- Pumpkin steps
Group three pumpkins of different sizes beside one side of the front step, then repeat a smaller pumpkin on the opposite side. Mix orange with cream or muted green so the display has depth. Keep the walking route and door swing clear.
- Mums in sturdy planters
Set two potted mums near the entrance for a strong autumn color cue. Use heavy planters or stable baskets, and let one color lead rather than mixing every shade. Water the plants as needed and avoid blocking handrails or the path.
- A lantern-lit entry
Place a pair of weather-appropriate lanterns at different heights beside the door. Battery candles give the warm glow shown in the porch images without an open flame near leaves, textiles or the doorway. A simple doormat anchors the arrangement.
- One full fall wreath
Hang a wreath of autumn foliage, seed heads or faux branches at eye level on the front door. Repeat just one wreath color in a nearby pumpkin or planter to connect the door with the rest of the porch. Check that the wreath and hanger do not interfere with the door.
- Bench and textile nook
If the porch has enough room, use a small bench with outdoor-suitable cushions or a removable throw. Add one pumpkin and a pot of mums nearby, then leave generous space to sit and pass through. Bring vulnerable textiles inside when weather turns wet.
